Last February, we played a fundraiser for Libertyville Sunrise Rotary. The guests loved the band, and two weeks later, I got a call from the President of the club saying that they had nothing but rave reviews, had raised a record amount of money for charity at the event, and they would like us to play for them again this year. They even offered to schedule the event around our open dates! Last Saturday, we played for them again, had another very enthusiastic crowd, and I hope they broke last year’s fundraising record! They also treated us like royalty. Here are a few photos from the event.
We’re always pleased when the Peter Hennes Orchestra is asked to help with the fund raising efforts of charitable organizations, and we were thrilled to play at the Palmer House Hilton on 4/18/09 for the American Heart Association’s Chicago Heart Ball. After a two and a half hour dinner and a program including videos, speeches, and a live auction, the guests were ready to party, and we rocked the house with a packed dance floor until midnight! It was a truly fantastic evening supporting a great cause, and we were honored to have been chosen to be a part of it!
What an incredible New Year’s Eve we had! The Peter Hennes Orchestra was the main attraction for an invitation only celebration at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, IN, playing for a crowd of 4,000! In other areas of the Casino, the performers included Second City, the Bobby Lewis Jazz Band, Larry Taylor Blues and Soul Band, and the Impalas. We had a rockin’ good time entertaining an enthusiastic crowd bringing in the New Year with non-stop dancing. The band even managed to do a little gambling on our breaks!
